To claim that you have a "human part" is a fairly new idea in our culture. In his essay, The Human Side of God, John Whitley explains that the human side of God is actually a fairly recent idea. Before the 20th century, there was no such thing as a "human side" to God. In fact, the modern concept of a “human side” of God has its origins in the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
This concept held that a person's relationship with God was limited to their relationship with Jehovah, and that they were utterly separate from Jehovah. So how did the idea of a “human side” to God originate? According to Whitley, it began with the Christian Bible itself. In the New Testament Gospels, John and Jesus show us that humans can see into each other's hearts and minds as well as those of God.
From this we can infer that humans have a human side as well as a divine one.
